What size image is best for your web site pages ?

An overview of an image taken from a phone camera and resized to be used on a web page and how I determine what size I should use. Image size is important since it is a major factor with how quickly your pages load. Visitors will leave your site if it doesn't load quickly and search engines will rank your pages lower.
